"When we learn to come to God with an intensity that wrings the soul, then shall we know a power in prayer that most of us do not know" --R. A. Torrey
Having this sort of intensity is not something that comes very naturally for me. However, the Bible seems to show that God responds more powerfully to prayers offered up out of desperation, out of longing, out of anguish. Very often, my little soul is content to remain un-wrung and comfortable. But I've found that when I give up this selfish desire out of love, when I can allow love for someone else to break my heart to pieces and pray from that place, God answers with power. I encourage you today to not pray just as a habit or for your job or for CSER, but to cry out to God on behalf of a hurting world who needs the love of a Savior more than anything else.
